Let’s Tackle the Hard Issues!

All of us are feeling the hard squeeze of the cost of living crisis that our district is facing. Whether it’s the cost of a box of cereal or price of renting an apartment, more and more of us are falling away from the middle.

Many of our state’s most pressing issues can be threaded back to our exaggerated cost of living. We need to start having the hard conversations about the current policies that have burdened our communities. No matter if we are talking about the price of gas or the lack of middle housing, there are many ways to stamp down this cost of living crisis that touches all of us.

Small Businesses are the gems of our community. They are a literal barometer of community health. There are too many small businesses negatively impacted by bad policy. Business owners know that the cost of doing business in our state is beginning to outpace the incentive. We support jobs when we support small business!

I want to focus on restoring reasonable labor policy, affordable commercial rents and cultivating small business. Let’s make policies that support our small businesses instead of burdening them so that they can continue to provide avenues to income and uplift our neighborhoods.

Public Safety

We need to make Public Safety a priority. None of us should feel scared to walk our streets. Our district was one of the safest places to live in Seattle. Crime has hit a massive upswing bringing violence and destruction to our beautiful neighborhoods.

We can no longer allow soft on crime policies to destroy our communities. I believe it is imperative to support our local law enforcement and make sure criminals are not allowed a revolving door.
